Journey to your heart and awaken within at this special 3-day introductory workshop to Sheng Zhen Moving Meditation. This heart-centered practice can be enjoyed by all levels and physical abilities, and no special equipment is needed.
Through demonstrated movements, verbal instruction and expert coaching, this Sheng Zhen workshop invites you to reconnect to the natural rhythm and ease provided by your body, breath and heart, yielding benefits in three areas:
Physical Health - As the body relaxes, the mind quiets and stress dissolves.
Emotional Well-being – Release “stuck” qi and renew the capacity to feel and create.
Heartful Awakening - Open and purify the heart, elevate the spirit, and return to a natural state of wholeness.
As the gentle graceful movements are practiced with mindful awareness, you awaken your inner capacity to feel, see, and think in new ways. Sheng Zhen Moving Meditation empowers the emergence of these innate abilities.
WORKSHOP
Optional Pre-Workshop Gathering - March 6 at 9 am
The Sheng Zhen Center at Milford will open Friday, March 6 at 9am for socializing and open (self-organizing) practice circles.
Formal Workshop start time - March 6 at 2 pm
The workshop will formally begin Friday, March 6, at 2 pm, and conclude on Sunday, March 8, 4 pm. The workshop includes 6 training sessions/2 each day, plus Saturday’s Inaugural Celebration and Dinner, and a mid-day lunch on Sunday.
PRICING
This workshop serves as the primary fundraiser for the new Sheng Zhen Center in Milford, and attendance is by donation at this Pay What You Will Workshop. This means that everyone has the opportunity to choose the tuition fee that works best for you today. The retail rate is $250.
TRAVEL INFORMATION
Location
The Milford Center is at 445 East Main Street, Milford, MA (USA), approximately 40 miles (65 km) southwest of downtown Boston via I-90 (Massachusetts Turnpike) and I-495. Aforementioned route, which has Tolls, is the shortest drive from Boston. Alternate routes avoid Tolls but may take significantly longer.
By Air
Both Boston Logan Airport (BOS), and Providence Rhode Island’s T.F. Green International Airport are approximately 45 miles (70 km) from Milford. Renting a car is easy at either airport. The drive might be slightly easier from Providence, while the public transportation is only available in Boston.
The Logan Express is a bus service that provides easy, direct rides from Logan airport to Framingham, a town 10 miles (16 km) north of Milford. One-way tickets on the Logan Express cost $12.
For the March workshop, we intend to have some shuttle/pickup options for those needing transportation to/from Framingham. Car rentals are also easily accessed through the Boston Logan airport. Car rentals are also available in Framingham.
Bradley International Airport (BDL), located 93 miles (150 km) west of the Center in Hartford, CT, is the next-closest airport and may be an alternative worth exploring on basis of price and convenience (traffic between Hartford, CT and Milford, MA is minimal). Car rental or a ride-share (Lyft or Uber) would be the primary options to get from BDL to the Center.
By Train
Travelers along the East Coast rail corridor may find it less expensive to take the train to either Providence and rent a car, or Boston and continue on public transportation. You will avoid going through checkpoints, save a little money, and have time during the ride to get some quiet work done for the day. But it does take all day.
By Car
Use your GPS or smartphone's map application to navigate to the Center at 445 East Main Street, Milford, MA. Parking is available at the center.
